From Ranger Regiment to Robotic Precision
Strike Force Striping is a veteran-owned pavement asset management consultancy serving the Greenville-Spartanburg industrial corridor. Founded by John Wood — a former member of the U.S. Army's 75th Ranger Regiment — the company combines military-grade discipline with autonomous robotic technology to deliver commercial parking lot striping, pavement consulting, and lifecycle maintenance programs that no traditional contractor can match.
The Founder's Story
A Letter from the Founder

John Wood
Founder & 75th Ranger Regiment Veteran
My career began far from the pavement of South Carolina, on a commercial fishing tender in Togiak, Alaska. I showed up knowing nothing about boats, but when the only person who understood the ship's massive cooling unit quit, I volunteered to figure it out. Armed with a basic understanding of chemistry and a 1977 copy of Refrigeration for Pleasure Boats, I spent my days reading the manual and studying the internal logic of the machine. I got it running, and we made it through the summer without a single failure.
That experience set the tone for my life. Whether I was in the hull of that tender, leading teams in special operations, or analyzing complex datasets in the tech sector, I found my purpose in the same place: studying the mechanics of a system to optimize its performance.
While I loved the technology of the corporate world, I eventually realized I was disconnected from the results of my work. I wanted to see the physical impact of my labor and be grounded in the local community where my wife and I raise our kids. I founded Strike Force Striping to bring that discipline and technical literacy to Greenville. I want my kids to see that there is honor in being a student of the craft—and value in being the neighbor who actually reads the manual.
I chose this industry because asphalt always tells the truth. Much like that refrigeration unit in Alaska, pavement is a system governed by chemistry and physics. It doesn't offer opinions; it offers data. If you look closely and "read" the language of subgrade distress and wear patterns—the asphalt tells you exactly what it needs to remain a reliable asset. I am here to interpret that truth and provide the technical stewardship your property deserves.
Operational Philosophy
Why "Strike Force"?
A "strike force" is a small, highly trained, rapidly deployable unit known for achieving its objectives through mastery of fundamental skills. In military special operations, success is less about time on the objective and more about the cycle that leads to it — planning, preparation, rehearsal, execution, debrief, repeat. People without a process are a crowd. Add process without technology and you're still estimating square footage with a wheel and a notepad. The highest impact comes when you put the right people behind defined processes and equip them with the best available technology.
There are excellent pavement maintenance companies in the Upstate of South Carolina. Skilled, trustworthy people who have their clients' best interests in mind. Our goal isn't to disparage them — we may even tell you another company is a better fit for your needs. Our goal at Strike Force Striping is to push the standard of excellence through people, defined processes, and the best technology available — so we deliver the most value to every client we serve.
The name is not a marketing gimmick — it is an operational philosophy. A Strike Force operates with a clear objective, relying on mastery of fundamentals to achieve results. That philosophy defines every aspect of how this company works.
What We Actually Do
More Than A Striping Company
Yes, striping is in our name. But what we actually deliver is certainty — the certainty that a property owner's pavement investment is optimized for the lowest 10-year lifecycle cost, executed with military precision and technology that competitors cannot match.
We study the mechanics of the system to optimize performance. Asphalt is physics and chemistry — not just blacktop. That perspective changes everything about how we approach a parking lot.
The Strike Force Difference
We study your lot, grade it to an industry-standard PASER score, give you a lifecycle cost analysis showing the real math behind maintain-vs.-repave, and then execute the fix with autonomous robotic precision — all documented in a professional report you can hand to the property owner, your corporate office, or your insurance carrier.
Robotic Parking Lot Striping
Autonomous 10Lines robot + Graco 3900 platform for commercial lots of any size. The robot follows a pre-programmed digital layout, eliminating the human variability that produces wavy lines, uneven spacing, and inconsistent paint thickness — completing striping up to 7x faster than manual crews. Night operations capability means zero disruption to daytime business activity. ADA compliance, fire lanes, directional markings, and full new layouts.
Pavement Consulting
Free PASER diagnostic assessments that grade your lot's condition on a 1–10 scale and deliver a Good/Better/Best maintenance recommendation backed by lifecycle cost data.
Lifecycle Maintenance Programs
Coordinated sealcoating, crack sealing, and re-striping schedules that protect your pavement investment over 10+ years at a fraction of reconstruction cost.
Quality & Documentation
From surface preparation to material selection, every job is documented with digital photos, PASER condition scoring, and as-built records. Every proposal is backed by data from our AI-assisted digital takeoff measurements, not estimates written on the back of a business card. The founder personally signs off on every completed project before the client is notified.
Service Area
